PACC and our volunteers had another successful Adopt-a-Crag at Broughton. It was a hot one this year, but the energy was high all throughout the day. Here are all the projects we accomplished:
- Clear/Rehinge/tread: Clear the growth along the trail and rehinge/grade where needed
- Social trail closure: Close the trail below fork to Hanging Gardens
- Tree removal and trail reinforcement: Remove a felled tree and use it to reinforce the trail
- Step build: Continue to build on the steps near the start of the main trail from last year

Clear/rehinge/tread
We cleared a lot of growth and rehinged many areas of the main trail, led by Max. This project is needed every year.

Social trail closure
We closed the trail below the fork to Hanging Gardens, led by Tim. We moved a lot of heavy things!

Tree removal and trail reinforcement
We removed a felled tree from the trail and used it to stabilize the trail, led by Paul.

Chuck dug out what was probably a 400 pound rock to stabilize the log and Reese stripped the bark to prep the tree to be used as a curb log. The 22 foot curb log was installed and the trail regraded.

Step build
We started the step building project to replace the failing railroad ties near the start of the main trail at last year’s Adopt-a-Crag led by Amory. This year, also led by Amory, the team added 3 additional steps to the area.

A big thank you to everyone who made this day possible (a special shoutout to Alex for being our trail consultant!) and to Access Fund for donating 3 memberships. Congrats to the raffle winners Alexa, Dan, and Matt!

PACC will be organizing smaller trail days this summer. Stay tuned!
