
Interested in learning how to climb outside, but not sure where to start? Join the Portland Area Climbers Coalition (PACC) and Trillium Alpine Guides on September 12 or September 19 for Crag Connect — an opportunity for Portland-area climbers to try outdoor rock climbing, learn foundational safety and anchor skills, and build community at our local crags.
Each half-day session features a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio, giving you plenty of personalized instruction and lots of opportunities to climb and connect!
What to Expect
- Customized instruction based on your experience level and goals
- Focus on movement efficiency, outdoor safety, and anchor systems
- Supportive, professional guidance from AMGA Certified Rock Guides
Who This Is For
- Beginners looking for a safe, guided introduction to real rock
- Gym climbers interested in building the skills to climb independently outdoors

📍 Location: Broughton Bluff in Troutdale, OR (20 minutes east of Portland)
🗓️ Schedule options – choose either a morning or afternoon half-day session:
Saturday, September 12:
- Morning Session (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
- Lunch hour with PACC (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
- Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Saturday, September 19:
- Morning Session (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
- Lunch hour with PACC (12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
- Afternoon Session (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)

🎒 Required Gear*: Climbing shoes, harness, belay device, helmet

Trillium Alpine Guides are Koby Yudkin & Ben Lim. From Smith Rock to Mt. Hood and up to Mt. Baker and the North Cascades, TAG offers guided rock climbing, mountaineering, and backcountry skiing adventures and education, led by Portland’s only AMGA certified guides.
